"I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring."- David Bowie

Hi, my name is Selena Linares, welcome to my page! I am 18 years old, and I am a Freshman here at John Jay. I am a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society and am an active volunteer with John Jay Habitat for Humanity. I am also a production member of John Jay's literary nonfiction podcast series "Life Out Loud." I plan on majoring in Criminology and earning a double minor in Psychology and English. In the future, I would like to work as a homicide detective and maybe join the FBI.

I am originally from Michigan, and I moved here for college. I choose John Jay because I am interested in Criminal Justice and this is the school for it. If I could move John Jay anywhere in the world, I would move it to Michigan to be with my friends and family, although I do love New York City.

My hobbies include playing sports, hanging out with friends, doing volunteer work, and traveling. My favorite color is blue, and my lucky number is 16. An interesting fact about me is that my right palm line spells the word my backward. I have just scratched the surface of John Jay my first semester here, and I am so excited to make new friends and get more involved at the college. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for me.
