This essay brought me back to the one thing I looked forward to in my freshman year: My philosophical aspect of feminism course. You will see that I resort back to this class a lot throughout my eportfolio, because it has truly redefined my life.

It's really not easy coming across systems after systems that restrain the growth of womyn. Right when you thought there had been enough, you come across more. In an odd way, however, I was happy I became aware of this. The quote "ignorance is bliss" might very well apply if it was anyone else, but for me, I love to be informed.

If I become more and more informed on these systems, I can speak out on it like I am now. Audre lorde's "The Transformation of Silence into Language and Action" is the type of article I resort to when I get discouraged to speak against these practices by my lack of support or simple confrontation.
