The moment I was told of the requirement of creating an ePortfolio for my English class confused me a great deal; even the idea of dropping this class visited my mind. Nevertheless, I didn’t give up too soon and decided to try. It was hard in the beginning; I felt like the most foolish person in the class who was singly not understanding what was going on. But starting is always the hardest step; after the first step, courage and interest get you involved in creating. So many ideas were in my head; I started my ePortfolio over a few times. Decisions came and I connected all elements together. I came to an important conclusion: no matter how difficult or absurd your struggles and ideas might seem, keep working, keep trying, and keep reaching, and all elements will come together; just follow the one big idea.

Designing my own website illustrates this idea. It seems that even the unreachable moon can be brought to your life if you make an effort. If you look for a path to pursue, you will definitely find your own, unique way, not similar to others or not necessarily compatible with common patterns. The impossible is possible; more to the point, there are many different ways to prove it.

“Keep trying, keep reaching, and keep dreaming” is the key element for my non-stop improving, for constant development and way to learn. The color scheme of my website is, therefore, also symbolic. Three main colors enhance the idea of “keep trying, reaching, and dreaming throughout your entire life”. The dark blue symbolizes the profound possibilities and opportunities within our dreams. It is a cool and dark color that serves as an analogy to something eternal, unknown and mysterious. This color responds to the “keep dreaming” part. Two other colors are two different hues of the first one, as trying and reaching are two aspects of one whole action. Trying, as a sequence of steps used to get the most desirable result, is presented in light yellow. The fact of reaching something is symbolized by bright yellow, somewhere there is even orange, the color that symbolizes achievement.

In the beginning, my ePortfolio was very weak, an unconfident newborn, but after a few assignments, it started getting a power and evolving. Such a project does not have an end. I think there always will be something to improve, to work on, to add.

If somebody says it is impossible, it is your responsibility to prove such an assumption wrong. Our life is so perfectly designed that it always holds another chance or a different option for us, even in the most desperate situation. Our failures do not mean we cannot make it or do not deserve it; it is just another step to our goal. The best that we can do is to keep trying, keep reaching, and keep dreaming. We don’t have much time, so we have to try as hard as possible to do as much as possible.

My ePortfolio describes me a lot as a person, writer, and student. My ePortfolio will grow with me during my college life and even after. This is my baby that I choose to take care of and helps me understand who I am.
