|Sample of 20 ePort Designs (Spring 2014)|
|Students are asked/assigned to watch this video for inspiration (from 2013-2014 ePortfolio designs) before they begin designing their own ePortfolios.|
Because I want students to design a website using our ePortfolio platform, I must introduce and teach our ePortfolio’s CSS very early. A side-effect of early design work is that both students and myself create sustained reflection and archival selection across an entire semester since we begin portfolio work so early.
Design is always more than sparkle and surface beauty. Every word, graphic image, weblink, and color scheme should convey mood, tone, identities, and meaning. From the very first decision that students make with their ePortfolios, they are communicating meaning and offering a message about their work and worth.
