You are actually creating TWO separate tabs in this session:

1) Work and Resume

2) Travel Experiences

In this first part of this session, you will learn to create a digital resume.  Basically, this means you will create a resume that has clickable links.  Those links will transport your audiences to reflections, photos, memories, etc in the left tab.

In the second part of this session, you will create a travel section.  Travel sections are very popular on students' ePorts across the country.  You can add any and all travel experiences and photos that you have (click here for a sample).  But you will also add elements to your travel section that most other students in the country cannot: LIFE IN NEW YORK CITY.  You will be asked to see and expereince New York City in ways that you may not have before.

The next time you decide to go to a restauraunt, choose one that is only located in NYC.  Almost all restaurants have very involved websites that describe their menu as well as the chefs' histories--- even the local, historic pizza shop has this.  Take a look at those sites and then represent the experiences socially and intellectually on your ePortfolio.

People from across the world visit NYC museums.  The next time you go to a NYC museum, be sure to spend time in a special exhibition that the museum is only showing for a short time.  You have the chance to comment on something most other people around the country cannot.  Don't just visit the large museums either; go to specialized museums like the Studio Museum in Harlem.

Neighborhoods in NYC have their own unique, vibrant histories too (choose a neighborhood, not a borough).  Visit a historic neighborhood or write about your own.  Do some research online and then reflect on your own experiences of living in/near that neighborhood or visiting it.

The same is true for NYC events.  Summer, as just one example, in NYC provides you with opportunities to see some of the greatest musicians and artists in the world FOR FREE.

This tab encourages  you to see and experience what NYC really offers.  At times, it can be difficult to remember just what is possible in NYC.  Everyone is moving fast.  Everything is so expensive.  There is so much to do.  And then there is also what George Benson says in the soundtrack on this page:

They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway
They say there's always magic in the air
But when you're walkin' down that street
And you ain't had enough to eat
The glitter rubs right off and you're nowhere

But just like Benson sings and scats across this song, we own NYC and can represent it!
