Creative Writing Assignment
My creative writing assignment is a poem about how the support of young adults can help young adults make a successful transition into college.
Going To College
Parents are always there for you
From you’re first day of Pre-K, to your last day of high school
But this time you’re brought into a different environment that is completely new
Expectations change along with the friends you make and path’s you take to achieve your goal
But there is one thing that changes most of all
Your parents are not holding your hand anymore
There not there to make sure you do all your homework, and to manage your time
You’re on your own in a way because it’s time to grow up
But your parents are always a phone call away to make sure you’re okay
To make sure to help you whenever you need help
So you can succeed in college
It might seem like your growing up to fast
But it’s all a part of going to college.

I really found your poem interesting. I think it really grasp the concept of the things a lot of first year college students deal with. I think you explained how college can be different and a whole new experience really well. i kinda don't really get the gist of what your paper was about, from the poem i think it could be about parental guidance and the strain college itself can have on a students/parent relationship. Was that a part of your paper? Was that a main issue you found in students adjustment in college? Overall, i think its a great start but could use more information that can really showcase your findings and conclusions made in your research paper.
