Green may not be the prettiest color out there, but it sure does represent me! Green makes me happy and I try to surround myself with as many greens as I can. My technological cases are green, my room is even painted green! Green brings me a peaceful feeling and a clear state of mind. It might just be the symbolism of nature it withholds, but regardless it is a color that has always caught my attention. I decided to sprinkle green onto my e-portfolio  because it truly is one of the things that represent me.

Becoming successful and making a whole bunch of money is everyone's idea of a perfect future. I as well believe this to be true, but there is more to it. Growing up with a single parent who struggles to make ends meet made me want to make a better future for myself. The future I want for myself is not constantly worry about bills and how to provide food for the table. I also do not want a job where I feel like I have to drag myself day by day in order to surivive. I know that in order to live what people would call "the good life", I need to focus on obtaining a degree. The career I have decided to pursue is becoming a criminal profiler. The job of a criminal profiler is to profie characteristics of offenders as well as predict why they did what they did or why they are who they are now. They look into the offender's past and try to find out if anything sparked them into becoming criminals and so forth. My original career coming into John Jay was to be a detective. This idea changed as I was watching a show called Deadly Women on my favorite channel Investigation Discovery. The jon title criminal profiler kept on being mentioned and then my curiosity came to play. So I started to research what being a criminal profiler really is all about and what is so special about this job. Little did I know, this was the answer to my doubts and questions on whether I wanted to commit on being a detective or not. The more I read into it, the more I learned to love it. It is a highly competitve job in which I do intend on obtaining as much experince as I can to make me a better candidate. On the long run, i know these internships, classes and jobs will not be a burden since it is something I grew passionate about. The suspense and the challenge of this careeractually interests me because I feel like there won't be anything boring about the career. I might have to relocate at times and travel a lot, but I love the idea of doing this. I sometimes sit and think about how it would be to finally start my career and I honestly can not wait. I want to read cases and finally be on the scene rather then continously relying on Investigation Discovery to calm the craving. I chose John Jay to help me pursue my dreams because I know this school can offer internships and classes that can help me stand out from others. I need the experience and the knowledge in order to be a better candidate and further qualified for the job since it is a competetive field. Believe me, I am well aware of the struggles and challenges that lie ahead of me. But it's safe to say I'm ready for everything and anything to decides to be on my path on being one of the top women criminal profilers there is.
