Emancipate Yourself Reflection

While I was writing this piece, I thought it would be a great way to express myself through the words of someone that I’ve cherished very dearly. In English class, we constantly discuss the meaning of being an intellectual and engaged writer.

However, after I wrote this essay, that’s all it was, an essay. I didn't truly get to express how strongly I felt and connect to the topic until I started revising and digitizing it. That is when I decided to explain further the reason why that quote was so important to me: it helped me through some hardships in my life.  Some people may think it's just words, but with meaning behind it, those words can become very powerful. This piece shows that I am very emotionally connected to my writing. I don't write just to write a piece, but I write because it's something I truly hold passion for. When I write, I want to inform people that everything anyone has to say is worth listening to because everything is a learning experience. And we can only become intellectual writers once we are aware of what we're writing for.
