Being that it is my third study abroad I am still scared, nervous, excited, and eager to be traveling to La Zona Maya. Having had class a week prior to traveling has allowed me to learn briefly about the history of Felipe Carrillo Puerto and the Maya community. In addition to class I have also started to do research of Quintana Roo and the many sites that we will be visiting throughout our stay; for me, it is essential that I know where I am going. Upon preparing to travel I have spoken to my family and friends and they all seem as excited as I am to be going to La Zona Maya! And this is helpful because I know that I lots of support and even abroad I can rely on them for anything. I will be traveling to Felipe Carrillo Puerto soon and cannot wait to learn about the history of the Caste Wars and the Maya Culture.
