On Sunday, January 15th my homestay family invited my roommates and me to the famous Chichen Itza. Having gone to Tulum and Cobá prior to Chichen Itza allowed me to compare the differences in how touristy these sites were, and overall the feel of the environment. In Tulum there was too much tourism, in Cobá there was not such a strong presence of tourism, and in Chichen Itza there were lots of tourists and tours going on, but it was not as intense as in Tulum. Visiting these three sites allowed me to learn about these archeological sites such as how the echo of the pyramid in Chichen Itza sounds like a bird.
