Miami Excursion

All flights were delayed...some more than others. The mission was to meet at Miami International Hotel at 4:00pm to walk around Miami and grab dinner. However due to the flights many arrived at Miami at 6:00pm and one classmate had their flight changed and would not arrive until 12am. Due to the flights being delayed we only had time to eat at Versailles–the restaurant with mirrors. It was very interesting to walk in and the first thing I noticed was the mirrors and it felt as if I was being watched at all moments. Prior to this excursion, we were told to read an article about the restaurant in which it described the owner and two restaurants: one with mirrors all over the walls and lots of light as opposed to the other with no mirrors and dimmed lights.

Afterward, we took a drive to the Bay of Pigs Memorial which was a monument that dated the Bay of Pigs invasion. Profe told us to take note of the memorial and to compare it to the one we would be seeing in Cuba. All excited and eager we ended our excursion by driving through Calle Ocho and then heading back to the Hotel to prepare for the early flight to Cuba.

Below is a picture that we all took in front of the restaurant Versailles:
