This section contains my writing pieces that I have written and want to show other fellow scholars who have a particular interest in writing. The one thing that motivates me to write is the subject or topic. But before we get to that, I want to explain how I discovered my ability to write. I always hated writing and lacked the skills to write. However, I did love listening to rap music, which is poetry. In particular, I enjoyed listening to rap music that I can make a moral and personal connection with. It then came to my mind in my 12th grade English class. Thanks to Mr. Glen Monsen, my former and highly respected English teacher, I learned many skills in writing and began to enjoy writing because of the freedom I was given in writing about whatever I wanted to write about! So just like my favorite rappers, why not begin creating pieces based on my experiences, thoughts, and emotions? It was as if writing was the one thing that I quickly progressed in and like music, it was what helped me cope. I always wrote better and with much more talent when I actually wanted to write. In particular, I only enjoy writing about things that strike my concerns and interests and I enjoy venting out my emotions by putting it onto paper. I liek to call it, "Crying Through a Pen." Some of my pieces may get a little personal, but I feel that I am comfortable with sharing like I have done in the past. Enjoy!
