Books to the Internet: Integrating Skills

Background & Foreground: So last class you identified some new words, chose a piece of art to describe and began to consider the kinds of arguments art critics put forth. What you’re going to do this class is:

1) Respond in your shared google doc.

2) Finish identifying and paraphrasing the argument from an article in your book.

3) Locate another image on the Internet by the artist whose piece you described on Monday. Write a description of it. Remember to include the use of color in the piece, what the image is of and how it makes you feel. Use at least one word from the vocabulary list you generated on Monday.

4) Does the image you located on the Internet just now support or contradict the article’s argument in the book? Why? In your response use at least one word from the vocabulary list you generated Monday.

5) Write three claims about the art piece you chose today. Remember a claim is a statement that can be either proven true or false. So stick to concrete details that can either be easily verified or disproved.
